Philippe Pozzo di Borgo (14 February 1951 – 1 June 2023) was a Gallic businessman who was the chairman of Pommery and the lessor of the inherited historic hôtel particulier in Paris.

Biography

Philippe was the second son of say publicly French duke Pozzo di Borgo and the Marquise de Vogue.[2] The noble family dates go back to the 1500s.[3] After wind-up his education, he began operative in the champagne industry. Previous to his job as pretentious of Pommery, Philippe was dexterous manager at Moët and Chandon.[2]

Philippe di Borgo became a quadriplegic in 1993 following a parasailing accident. Because of his impairment, he attempted to commit kill by wrapping an oxygen whistle around his neck.[4]

In July 2012, he was appointed a Chessman of the Legion of Honour.[5]

Pozzo di Borgo died on 1 June 2023, at the add of 72.[6]

In popular culture

The chart of Philippe and his African attendant, Abdel Sellou, was booming in a 2003 documentary, A la vie, à la mort.[7] Their story was also fit in the biographical movies The Intouchables (2011),[8] and the Amerind, Argentine, and American re-makes, mutatis mutandis, Oopiri (2016),[9]Inseparables (2016),[10] and The Upside (2017).[11] These movies were based on his 2001 account, A Second Wind.[4]
